Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County

Can I resist two Gerry Connolly-bashing stories in a row?

I can not. Bashing Gerry Connolly is what I do.

The latest news flash is that here in Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County, officials are preemptively rejecting absentee votes cast by active duty U.S. Military servicemen and women.

This is the same Fairfax County that's encouraging shiftless young college students to vote illegally, of course.

Gee, I wonder where the difference in the interpretation of election law comes from?

Gerry Connolly's Great Smackdown!

Keith Fimian and his ad people are absolutely frickin' brilliant:

For full disclosure, Gerry Connolly's company just happens to be the same company I work for. Also for the record, they have yet to "reward" me for "accidentally" relocating billion-dollar public works projects to right outside their doorstep.

Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County Town of Vienna

Just stabbing the "innocent restaurant patrons" that Americans won't stab:

A man was stabbed in the hand at a Vienna restaurant on Oct. 11.

Police were called to El Punto Restaurant on Cedar Lane in Vienna on Saturday night. There, officers encountered a male victim with wounds on his wrist and hand. He was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Alexis Lopez-Canacas, 26, has been charged with malicious wounding.

Of course, by "innocent restaurant patrons," I mean "gang-banging scum." Not that the distinction matters in this case.

And far be it from me to point out to Gerry Connolly that inviting illegal aliens, amongst whom some of the worst gang-bangers in the County hide, is not a good way to increase law-abiding business in the County.

Of course, if Gerry plans on doing in Congress what he's done so well in the County Board of Supervisors—namely, pander in the worst way to his friendly "undocumented Americans"—we can surely plan on having even more delightfully tolerant incidents like this!

On a related note, people in Springfield are positively atwitter at the City's latest plans to salvage... er, make that "revitalize" Springfield Mall, which is often a topic of discussion around these parts. Continue reading »

Life in Liberal-Infested Territories

It's this blissful.

Earlier today, when I was stopped at a stop sign going through Gerry Connolly's diverse and tolerant Vienna, Virginia today, another driver flew right up next to me in his silver Acura.

He then proceeded to lean out the window, shake his fists at me, and yell in my general direction pretty loudly.

Of course, seeing how I drive a nice and cozy Saturn Aura, and my windows were up, I didn't hear a word of what he said. Which means Saturn has worked wonders in sound-proofing the car, no?

I'm guessing that he must be a fellow fan or something. It's a mystery to me.

Anyway, while I'm on the topic, and before I go and pass out, the Mrs. has pointed me to a group of Russians celebrating American politics, as only Russians can.

With poetry, yo!

To wit, a poem which will evoke the very essence of America's own Walt Whitman:

И как бы демы не пытались (No matter how hard the "Dems" try)
Надеть стране тюрбан чумазый, (to make the country [America] wear a grimy turban)
Мы победим, не зря ж старались - (We [Republicans] will win, we didn't do it for nothing)
Утопим сучек в нефти с газом ("Da b*tches" will drown in oil and gas)

More neo-classic Russian poetry beyond the fold. Continue reading »

Life in Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County

Means asking the kinds of questions that we all want to know. The kinds of questions that should never really need to be asked in a "civilized" nation.

Sadly, at least as far as Fairfax County goes, I think I already know what the answer is going to be.

Bad Signs in Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County

News like this does not bode well for any Republican in Virginia:

Thousands of new voters have registered in Fairfax County this year and election officials are preparing for a big turnout at the polls.

I'm sure the Virginian-hating staff over at Mark Warner's office is jumping for joy at this very moment.

Falls Church Hate Letter: Not A Hate Crime!

Remember the hate letter that our 9/11 memorial here in Falls Church received about a week ago? The sculptor sent it in to Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County Police Department, trying to determine from them whether she should be worried about it or not. Their response?

the threat could not be investigated as a hate crime because it "was against Americans and would not work."

Thanks to the wonders of Diversity, we learn that hatred expressed against Americans is not hatred at all.

Muslims need never fear, though, because the power of Virginian Bureaucracy quickly put her "offensive" art to a halt:

On Sept. 12, the Fairfax County Permits Division of VDOT contacted Swenholt to tell her that she did not have a permit to keep the statue on VDOT land.

"The piece of property she used is actually part of the Interstate 66 right-of-way and requires a permit for its use, which she does not have," said VDOT spokesman William Dunlap. "She can apply for it but if she is looking for a permanent display place, then the right-of-way would probably not be the right choice."

Bureaucracy:—Swiftly stopping the 9/11 rememberance that hatred couldn't stop.

It's A Mystery: Increase in Unlicensed Drivers?

Gee, I couldn't come up with a logical explanation for stories like this if I tried as hard as I could:

There has been a 700 percent increase in the number of unlicensed driver tickets issued in the Town of Herndon in the last five years, even though the number of licensed drivers in the town has stayed about the same.

According to police Lt. Jeff Coulter, the Herndon Police Department issued 106 tickets for the offense of driving without a license in 2002. At the end of 2007, that number had increased to 756.

You can thank Gerry Connolly and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for their complete inaction with respect to our ballooning illegal alien population, which has resulted in this 700% increase in license-less (and presumably insurance-less) drivers.

After all, if you don't enforce the law, why in the heck would you expect that anyone would actually follow it!

That's the kind of change Gerry wants to bring to Congress, folks.

Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County

This truly is too tragic for words:

Police: Kidnapped woman dies in crash

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- A kidnapped Virginia woman died when her alleged abductors crashed her car during a police chase, authorities said.

Barbara Jean Bosworth, 61, of Alexandria was killed Saturday when her car careened into trees in Prince William County, The Washington Post reported Sunday. Two men in the car with Bosworth were hospitalized in critical condition.

Bosworth apparently was able to call her husband and indicate something was wrong after she was allegedly kidnapped by the two men at the Springfield Mall, police said in a statement.

Gerry, how much longer are you going to let this rampant disregard for the law continue in this county?

Keith Fimian: International Man of Mystery!

We went to the Burke Centre Festival today, which was an awesome time. What made it even better was to run into Keith Fimian, the Republican candidate for the House of Representatives here in Fairfax County.

Keith Fimian (R), pictured with a loon (L).

If you live here, and are as annoyed by Gerry Connolly as I am, be sure to vote for Keith in November.

And if you want to meet him in person, chances are he'll be at the festival tomorrow, too. Be there or be square.

Or at the very least, rectangular.

McCain to visit Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County!

The McCain camp will be appearing at Van Dyke Park today, right near Snapped Shot's stomping grounds. After initially planning to appear at Fairfax High School, the campaign discovered that there actually are Republicans living here in Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County, and had to move to a larger venue.

Of course, a move like that can't be treated as the simple matter-of-fact that it is. J.R. over at Bearing Drift explains:

Because of the popularity of today’s McCain/Palin event in Fairfax, the McCain campaign realized two days ago that they had to change venues. The campaign started to explore what options they might have to ensure that the location the did choose would be large enough to accommodate the 20k+ tickets they gave out.

However, not having that bit of information, Democrats began a letter writing campaign yesterday to keep McCain from having the event at a high school in Fairfax (after the decision had already been made to move).

I can confirm that the local news had already started talking about how they were "hearing" that parents at FHS were upset that a political campaign was using the High School, but conveniently, there were no names mentioned, and no interviews with irate parents. J.R. continues:

So, let’s take this at face value: Barack Obama held an event yesterday at a Lebanon, VA high school. Today, Barack Obama will be at Granby High School in Norfolk. And, if memory serves me correct, Obama held a townhall in a Fairfax High School earlier this year.

Clearly, these events were all political. And, clearly, Obama is a regular participant.

There's nothing new about political campaigns using schools for their events and rallies. This kind of campaigning has been going on for at least as long as I've been alive, and most likely far longer.

Of course, considering that politicians built all of these multimillion dollar facilities, is it really all that unreasonable for a politician to be able to use them once in a while?

Gerry Connolly's Ferfx Cnty

Fairfax County Public Schools has reported a "dramatic" increase in Virginia Standards of Learning tests over the past year. This news would be all the more exciting if the change weren't for such predictable reasons:

The percentage of students passing the Virginia Standards of Learning grade level tests went up by double digits in some categories, in part due to a change in the testing method for students who are still learning English.

Part of the VSOL tests, which have been an honored tradition in Virginia's public education system since long before I was born, is testing the student's proficiency in English; which, last I checked, was still the lingua franca of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

It comes as no surprise, then, to learn that Fairfax County, in Gerry Connolly's infinite wisdom, no longer feels that English proficiency is a requirement for Virginia's students to learn.

Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County Town of Herndon

Celebrate diversity:

Our future.
The Herndon Police responded to a stabbing in the 1200 block of Springtide Place just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday August 20.

Officers found a 40-year-old Herndon woman had been stabbed in the upper torso. The victim was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital and was treated and released. "This stemmed from a domestic dispute," said Lt. Jeffrey Coulter of the HPD.

Police detectives have obtained warrants charging Fredy Zuniga-Casceres, 27, with Burglary and Malicious Wounding. Zuniga-Casceres has no fixed address and also goes by an alias of "Illiny," according to police.

Fire at Springfield Mall?

The Mrs. just reported that the fire alarms at Gerry Connolly's Springfield Mall are going off right now, and that she saw smoke.

Not sure what's going on yet, but will keep you posted. Nothing much surprises me about that dump any more.
