Happy "Death to America" Day

It would seem that Iran is celebrating the anniversary of the seizure of our Embassy today. From the looks of it, they rounded up their best and brightest to commemorate the event—an outpouring of genuinely manufactured outrage, for sure.

A school girl smiles as she stands in front of a banner during a gathering to mark the anniversary of the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran November 4, 2007. Thousands of Iranians chanted "Death to America" and vowed not to yield to U.S. pressure over Iran's nuclear programme at a demonstration on Sunday marking the 28th anniversary of the seizure of the American embassy. I'll have more pictures following the break. For additional coverage, be sure to check out Kamangir.

Happy Al-Quds West-Hating Fun Day

Is this the next Jihadi Idol?
It's that time of year again, and the celebrations have begun! If you're not familiar with it, "Al Quds Day" is a day set aside by the Ayatollah Khameni and the Islamic Revolutionary government in Iran as a day for Muslims to march against "Western" "oppression". Never they mind the oppression brought upon them by their leaders, of course. The stability of their dictatorships depends on them directing their peons' anger externally, does it not?

Notice that Al Quds Day falls on the last Friday of Ramadan, a day in which all Muslims are encouraged to go to their mosques for prayer. It is in these mosques that the "Islamic public" is so easily whipped into a rage by their radical imams. So, in effect, this is the largest canned protest of the year.

Be sure to check back here all day, I'll be doing my best to keep up with the fun and games!

And here are last year's celebrations, so you know what to expect.

Update: This year's theme, parroted by every single group of brainwashed demonstrators, is "DOWN WITH ISRAEL."

If only International A.N.S.W.E.R. had as loyal a following as Tehran does, huh?

;-)

"We are Peaceful Towards All Nations"

... at least, so says Mahmoud "Shorty" Ahmadinejad, and of course, his (brainless) fans in the West believe every word of it. But what does the reality on the ground in Iran say?

A veiled Iranian woman walks past graffiti art characterizing the U.S. Statue of Liberty, painted on the wall of the former U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran, Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007. Iran and the U.S. have not had diplomatic ties since militants took over the U.S. Embassy following the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is addressing the U.N. Yep, that would be the "former" U.S. Embassy that the Islamic Revolution held hostage way back in Jimmy Carter's failed presidency.

Do you notice the subtle propaganda in that last picture, by the way? If not, take a closer look at where the gun is pointing.

I'm posting some additional pictures from the archives beyond the breakthat should give you an accurate description of how "peaceful" Iran is towards the West. Continue reading »

And a Happy Nuclear Day to you too

It looks like today is Nuclear Day over in Iran today, complete with celebratory "Death to America" protests and everything. I'll be following the day's events as best as I can, so be sure to check back here for more Nuclear Day fun throughout the day!

... and my policy, too, is clear: Poorly translated foreign protest signs = FRONT PAGE COVERAGE.

I'll be keeping photographs on the extended version of this article, for your entertainment. Feel free to peruse them while I hop on down to Hallmark to shop for my National Day of the Nuclear Technology Day cards!

As usual, Gateway Pundit is covering these festivities, too. Hot Air is reporting that 3,000 centrifuges will be installed for uranium enrichment—I find this highly suspect, considering Iran's recent troubles with their supplier, though it's definitely not outside the realm of possibility that such an announcement would be made for (shock!) propaganda purposes.

As usual, I've got a roundup of today's festivities in the extended article, so be sure to keep reading for more fun and excitement! Continue reading »

Al-Quds Day = "Blame Da Joooos" Day

My husband allows me to say only, "Death to America!"
Well, what do you know? Muslims worldwide are using "Al Quds" day as a perfect excuse to organize and blame Israel and the United States for all of their problems.

Who would've guessed it?

Photos to follow shortly. I need coffee like there's no tomorrow! :-)

(Update: Ok, the first batch of photos are in. I am absolutely on the edge of my seat waiting to see what gems we'll get from the Eternally Oppressed Palestinians... You'll find them catalogued here first, as usual!)

Dictatorship Shot of the Day

This really doesn't require any explanation, does it?

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, August 15, 2006. Syria will keep supporting Hamas and Hizbollah despite U.S. threats to impose more sanctions on it, a government newspaper said on Thursday. (Khaled al-Hariri/Reuters)

My question is: Who's dumber? Him for flaunting "western world resolve" (represented by the ever-flauntable UnTIEd Nations), or us for continuing to put up with the dictatorial terrorist regime in Syria?

Update 12:24 EST: Alright, I couldn't resist. Today's going to be a "twofer."

A man stands between portraits of the Iranian late revolutionary founder Ayatollah Khomeini, left, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, right, and Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as he listens to Ahmadinejad's speech during a public gathering in the city of Karaj, 21 miles (35 kilometers) west of the capital Tehran, Iran, Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. Ahmadinejad on Thursday rejected demands that Tehran suspend its uranium enrichment activities, saying his government was determined to continue pursuing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. I kinda like the "wispy" look on Ahmad-whatever's face.
