What happened to the pictures? Exhibit A, Exhibit B
Will they ever come back? Yes and no

It Must Be "Youths"day

The wire services are afloat in pictures of the stereotypical Palestinian "youths" (i.e., what are in most cases 25-year-old men who look suspiciously like "militants"), hurling stones and other random objects at Israeli police forces.

As many times as this exact picture has been taken, it's amazing that someone at the editorial desk still thinks it's news.

AP-Friendly Roundup: youths, youths, youths, youths, youths, youths, youths, youths, youths, youths, youths.

We Support Our Thugs

Quite a touching display, courtesy the "moderate" Fatah party.

Update: Wow... are my eyes deceiving me? It looks to me like the following photo is of an admitted Al-Aqsa weapon leaning against the wall—A U.S.-made M-16 rifle?! Apparently, arming terrorists is now a de-facto role of the United States State Department.

(And to think that I can distinctly recall hearing warnings about that particular weapons transfer.... But hey, we're not the only ones doing it, so whatever. If Israel's cool with Olmert leading them to national suicide, what the heck can I do about it?)

Update: Bob Owens doesn't think it's such a big deal, and I reckon I understand his approach—It just irritates me to no end whenever I see American weaponry in the hands of people who get their thrills out of the murder of innocents:

Brian,

M-16s have been around for 40 years, and we've been giving them or selling to friendly governments probably most of that time. I've seen U.S. weapons in terrorist hands before, and don't think it is that big of a deal, unless we are directly arming them now.

FYI: The scope appears to be an older generation 1 night vison scope.

Bob

Intra-Fada: Partner in Peace Edition™

It would appear that the "moderate" political/militant faction of Fatah is having something of a falling-out with the "radical" militant/militant Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. I'm not sure I'll ever figure out which side to root for here, so I'll hedge my bets:

Go bullets, Go!

Be sure to pay close attention to the loving care these militants show towards their unarmed populace. Especially if your first name happens to be Condoleeza.

Those "Unfair" Israeli Jails

The press loves to show up and cover the weekly protests held (usually on Monday) by Palestinian women seeking the release of their relatives from Israeli jails, and the portfolio generally consists of the most genteel members of their society. I don't usually cover these protests, as they're generally fairly formulaic, but there is a photo from today that I think illustrates the true situation behind jailed Palestinians quite clearly. From the Associated Press' Nasser Ishtayeh:

Palestinian Fatheyeh Shreem, holds a framed photograph of her five sons held in Israeli jails, as she sits in her home in the West Bank town of Tulkarem, Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007. One of Shreem's sons, Maamoun Shreem, is on the list of the 87 prisoners Israel is slated to release next week in a move to bolster Abbas in his power struggle against Hamas. Check out the painting immediately to her left, and then ask yourself this:—Do you think the Israeli government jailed her sons unfairly? Do you suppose for even a fleeting second that these aspiring jihadists poor, oppressed menfolk were arrested for being Boy Scouts?

If I were a government, and I had a large population of people who were actively and openly trying to destroy me—and I don't mean through "democratic" methods—wouldn't I be justified in jailing the violent members of said population?

I mean, consideringthe alternates (i.e., Ye Olde Gallows), it seems to me like this is a rather humane solution, yet it never seems to satisfy the endless flocks of Western sycophants who jump to the defence of the terrorist regimes.

Keep images like this fresh in your mind the next time you encounter a photograph decrying the "poor, blighted" condition of Palestine.

A Club, Most Exclusive

One wonders what the membership requirements for the "Palestinian Prisoner's Club" are...

Okay, Now it's Official...

We've definitely got something interesting going on here.

A Palestinian man walks past the wreckage of a car after it exploded killing two Palestinian militants in the West Bank city of Nablus, late Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Two Palestinians traveling in a car in the northern West Bank were killed in an explosion Wednesday night, Palestinian security officials said, adding that the cause of the blast was not known. The violent Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades group, linked to the Fatah organization, said the two men were its militants and blamed Israel for the incident, but the Israeli army said it had no report of any military activity in the area. Theory #1: The simplest (and most likely) explanation is that the IDF is taking active efforts right now to eradicate Al-Aqsa. Considering that, of all of the thugs in the Territories, Al-Aqsa is the most brutal, this is completely understandable, and I congratulate my comrades in the Forces for their gallant efforts!

Theory #2: A less likely explanation (but still plausable, due to the tendency of the locals to Blame Israel First) is that the genuine Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is going around wiping out members who formed a splinter group. I can imagine that the genuine thugs, upon hearing their former associates describe them as being "unethical," would naturally take umbrage and handle things "Mafia style." Any reasoned observer understands full well by now that that's the only way business gets done under the "Palestinian Authority."

Theory #3: The remotest possibility I can think of is that Hamas is making efforts to combat Fatah, by wiping out Fatah's most active "wing," and then planting evidence "suggesting" that Israel was responsible. I don't think this is the case, but I'll present it here anyway, just in case there's some shred of truth to it.

[Update: Upon further reflection, I'd say that Theory #2 is the most plausible. The IDF doesn't generally take any action without at least letting their Public Affairs office know about it first... which in and of itself is a very telling commentary on the handicap placed upon itself and other Western militaries by many of the "Open Government" policies which are so popular today. But I digress...]

So, to wrap up, in the past few days, we have had a new terror group formed. Less than twelve hours later, its leader is "murderated." The very next day, another Al-Aqsa member (by this time the press has completely forgotten about "Abu Ammar") is gunned down in a cafe by "The IDF," which could be true, or could be the locals' traditional Jew-Blaming. I didn't report on that incident, since it didn't seem to be connected at the time. And just now, a group of Al-Aqsa terrorists just happen to "exploderate" whilst "Driving While Jihadi."

This is truly turning out to be a fascinating week for Al-Aqsa. In the best possible sense of the word. To whomever is doing this:—Please keep up the great work! Any efforts to "thin the Thugocrat herd" are commendable, and my hat is certainly off to you for your efforts!

I'll miss the dopey-looking idiots, but the world is definitely better off without them.

Update: The obligatory crocodile tears can now be found beyond the fold. Continue reading »

Can You Say "Irony"

... in Arabic? Check out this Kuwaiti idiot's take on Virginia Tech (h/t MEMRI):

In his column yesterday in the Kuwaiti daily Al-Siyassa following the shootings at Virginia Tech, columnist Muhammad Yousef Al-Malifi wrote of the sickness of American culture: "It is never heard, not even in dreams, of a massacre at one of the Islamic universities...

Yeah, sure. It's not like any Arab universities have ever celebrated brutal massacres or anything, right?

Palestinian students walk under a replica of a Sbarro pizza restaurant sign, which reads "Kosher" in Hebrew, during the opening of an exhibition at Al Najah University in the West Bank town of Nablus, Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, to commemorate one year since renewed violence broke out between Israelis and the Palestinians. The Sbarro section of the exhibition, replete with body parts and pizza slices strewn across the room, is a replica of the Aug. 9 Sbarro suicide bombing which killed 15 Israelis and thebomber in Jerusalem.
