What happened to the pictures? Exhibit A, Exhibit B
Will they ever come back? Yes and no

A Dubious Retirement

I read reports recently of a former Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade militant opening a theatre in the West Bank, but until I saw who it was, didn't think much of it. Now that I've seen the pictures, I definitely think there's more to the story:

Palestinian former militant Zakariya Zubeidi, 31, is seen during a presentation of a 300-seat hall 'Freedom Theater' in the West Bank refugee camp of Jenin, Wednesday Jan 16, 2008. He once carried an assault rifle and planned attacks on Israelis. Now, the retired Palestinian militant breaks up fights between children in a theater that he helped establish in the West Bank town of Jenin. (AP Photo/Mohammed Ballas)

How long ago did he carry an assault rifle and plan attacks on Israel? As a hint, he refused to sign a pledge renouncing attacks against Israel when offered the chance—That should give you some idea of how committed to peace he really is. That pledge was repudiated a whopping 6 months ago.

Has he really renounced [Ed.:—Redundancy mode off. Coffee mode on.] all of his terror-supporting ways in a mere 6 months?

I'm skeptical, to say the least. Continue reading »

Such Telling Loyalties

It is fitting that a society that values only death would exalt such a murderous swine. And anyone who expects to make peace with such a demented populace is sadly mistaken. From our resident coward:

Disabled Palestinian artist Mohammed Shaban paints a mural on a wall depicting the face of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, left, next to a mural depicting late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in the West Bank city of Jenin, Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007. A Society Without Parallels

One could spend a lifetime studying the psychological effects of this type of "culture" on the children raised therein, if one were so inclined. Personally, I'll just be happy when the world stops pretending that these people are somehow innocent.

Pervasive Aggrandizement

The Palestinian culture of violence is rooted in the pervasive, all-encompassing propaganda that their culture forces upon its children. Here's a prime example of this phenomenon—the children are returning to their schools for the first school-day of the year, in the presence of the ever-ready photojournalist corps. Keep a keen eye on these childrens' surroundings:—The content of the murals, in particular, tell a rather one-sided story of the Palestinian conflict.

Palestinian schoolgirls arrive at their school on the first day of the school year at the West Bank city of Jenin Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. Thousands of Palestinian children kicked off the new school year on Saturday in the Gaza Strip, but some of their counterparts in the West Bank got an extra day of vacation thanks to a teacher's strike. For the record, the map in the photograph above encompasses the entire borders of the current State of Israel—the target of the terrorist regime of the Palestinians. Is it any wonder that, after being incubated in surroundings like this for their entire lives, that the "cycle of violence" wrought by the Palestinian terrorists never ceases?

I'll be tracking more of these works of propaganda beyond the fold. Continue reading »

Feel the Flames of Hate

Yup, definitely ready for statehood:

The Religion of Peaceful Youths

I can just sense the "peace" oozing out of this little boy's expression:

A Palestinian youth carries a poster of the late Yasser Arafat during a march supporting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah movement in the West Bank town of Jenin, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007. I'll refer you to our previous discussion on the ways in which the Palestinian youth are being summarily dehumanized by their propagandistic society, if you're interested in finding out more about how these people have ended up expressing themselves like the above photograph.

"Abu Ammar Brigades" Rises Again?

You might remember a brief discussion about a new offshoot of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades sometime this past May. In fact, less than 24 hours after "Abu Ammar Brigades"—named after Chairman Arafat, of course—was formed, its newly-minted leader was killed in record time by "unknown" assailants. And then, it seemed, the rest of the group quickly followed.

With that, it's amusing to note that, thanks to the efforts of our intrepid (and seditious) photographer Mohammed Ballas (the COWARD), we've been informed that Abu Ammar Brigades lives on.
