What happened to the pictures? Exhibit A, Exhibit B
Will they ever come back? Yes and no

Making Every Day a Happy Naksa

It seems that there's always a reason to celebrate -er, make that "protest"- over in the "Palestinian" terror-tories. Today marks the 40th year since the Israeli victory over the Arab forces which surrounded her, intent on her utter destruction. Much like any other event, though, one need not look for any hints of reality in the collection of terror-supporters and useful idiots who showed up to "commemorate" this "great tragedy."

I'll be tracking as many of the pictures of today's "festivities" that I can. The most amusing event that I've seen is when the local Palestinians savages turned on the leftist protesters useful idiots who came to defend them support terrorism, which you can read in full glory over at Carl's place. I'm eagerly awaiting photographs from that little dust-up, but have a sneaking suspicion that the wires will "accidentally" self-censor it.

So until then, we'll just have to enjoy what we've got. May God continue to bless Israel, and may Israel continue to bless God!

Preening leftists overacting as "Palestinians" and "Israeli soldiers."

Their Naqba is My Joy

I bring good tidings from the "Palestinian" territories: The citizens of "Occupied" Palestine are marking the Naqba, commemorating and mourning the day in which Israel was founded in 1948. This would be Snapped Shot's first chance to cover this annual event, so if you already know the background of Naqba, please be sure to skip ahead and celebrate the "mourning."

For those of you who are new to Naqba, let me start by presenting the Palestinian party line, as dutifully parroted by our mindless "guardians" of truth in the press:

Palestinian women walk past graffiti marking Naqba in the West Bank city of Ramallah May 15, 2007. Palestinians mark Naqba on Tuesday as a day of mourning for the establishment of Israel in 1948 after which an Arab-Israeli war brought the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. Notice two things: The "Palestinians" are mourning the establishment of Israel, and shortly after this establishment occurred, an Arab-Israeli war brought the "displacement" of hundreds of thousands of "Palestinians." Continue reading »

Familiar Faces?

Are these the same familiar faces we've commented on before? The guy in the second row, 2nd from the right seems to be familiar, from where I'm sitting in any case.

Palestinian militants of Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a militia linked to the Fatah movement, carry their weapons during a press conference in the West Bank city of Nablus March 6, 2007. The militants held a press conference following the Israeli army operation in Nablus last week. (AP Photo/Nasser Ishtayeh)

The guy all the way to the left in the front row looks familiar as well. (Update--And I believe the guy second from the right in the front row is none other than Mahdi Abu Ghazaleh, the spokesman of Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.)

Curiously enough, Nasser Ishtayeh was one of the photographers who sent in the last set of pictures surrounding this particular Al Aqsa cell, and in the story previous to that, where I'd originally spotted "Jughead."

Very interesting.

Does Nasser Ishtayeh (ap) associate freely with Al Aqsa, a rather notorious terrorist group? He sure does seem to be around whenever they do anything photogenic. I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for corresponding pictures from Abed Omar Qusini (reuters), who for some reason tends to show up wherever Nasser does.

For more background on the respect shown to terrorist press conferences by the press, see my previous coverage. Continue reading »

Cheerleading for the Terrorists

The media, in all of its glory, wholeheartedly participating in the celebration of a new weapon designed to kill Jews:

Masked Palestinian militants of the al-Aqsa Martyrs' brigades display weapons to the media in the West Bank city of Nablus Tuesday Nov. 28, 2006. The millitants displayed in a news conference what they claim to be a new homemade rocket named in Arabic 'Jondallah 1', means 'Soldiers of God'. (AP Photo/Majdi Mohammed)

More details will follow shortly, as soon as I have the time. I hope to track down the news articles attached to this event, photographs from other wires that might have attended, etc. In the meantime, the only other photo I've found on the wires so far from this "celebration" follows in the extended article.

Update: Reuters is beginning to weigh in on this event, sending in a photo bylined Abed Omar Qusini. It's interesting to note that Reuters' version of this story is significantly different than the story presented by the AP. Continue reading »

The incredible moving militant?

Some "militants" from the Al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade were apparently shot dead by the Israeli Army yesterday. Immediately following their deaths, their bodies were turned into a macabre display by the Pallywoodians and their eager supporters in the press. Check out these two photos:—In the first photo (on the left), only one body is visible, laying in a pool of, presumably, his own blood. In the second photo (on the right), the "relatives and neighbors" who "care so deeply" about these two "militants" have moved a second body into the scene, to provide a more dramatic shot of grieving to the press.

As usual, I've posted all of the wire images to this article. Be sure to check out all of the dramatic acting.

UPDATE 10:10 EST: Allah Pundit suggests that I'm reading the pictures backwards—i.e., there were originally 2 bodies there, and one of them was taken away. He's probably right, of course, but to my defense, I'll say that I posted the photos here exactly in the order they appeared on the wires... (It's still a bit odd, though—the body in the red shirt is partially underneath the body in the white shirt. Why take that one away first?)

Note that the scene was shot by two photographers. It's likely that Madji Mohammed got there first, further supporting Allahpundit's suggestion. I'm duly updating the article title from a statement, to a question.

Curses! Foiled again!

UPDATE 16:16 EST: I found some higher-resolution photographs of these events on Getty, for reference. Poster captainfish points out that there are some objects which could be shell casings next to the bodies, though no weapons seem to be present in the pictures. Does this mean that our "mourners" carried the weapons away before summoning the press?

UPDATE 16:26 EST: I've done my best to rearrange the photos in chronological order, instead of wire order. No telling as to whether or not this is correct, though, as the EXIF data doesn't appear to be present in the wire images. Continue reading »
