"Clashes" at Arafat Memorial

Update: This picture is quite a fitting highlight.

"Pheer our moderation."

Orig: Female Palestinian Fatah supporters gather at a rally marking the third anniversary of the death of the late leader Yasser Arafat in Gaza City, Monday. Nov. 12, 2007. Hamas security forces opened fire at the mass rally commemorating the death of the late Palestinian leader, violently dispersing the largest public display of support for the rival Fatah movement since Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip in June. Five people were killed and at least 31 were wounded, medical officials and Fatah said.(AP Photo/Khalil Hamra)

It would appear that Hamas has attacked a gathering of Fatah supporters who had the audacity to organise a memorial ceremony in the former group's stronghold. Notice the editorial content provided in the caption, by the way. "Gunfire" killed people, "clashes" caused the violence. It's almost as if the press is trying to go out of their collective way to absolve Hamas of any guilt in this conflict, in contrast to just about every other event that directly blames the IDF for any potential casualties.

You know, the usual charges like, "Israeli bullets killed," and "Israeli bulldozers demolished."

I'll be tracking photos of the rally, and the resulting chaos, following the break. Please note that some of the photographs are somewhat graphic, so viewer discretion is advised. Continue reading »

Children of Convenience

It's Friday, which means it's time for yet another protest calling for the opening of the Gaza border. And lo and behold, it would appear that Hamas has trotted out one of our regular (and very adorable) little anti-Israelis in this little rally. Of course, events like these are nothing but attempts by Hamas to shield their "more" violent members behind the cloak of innocent women, children, and elderly—which is a ruse. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'll say it again:—It is absolutely surreal to be able to watch someone grow up over such a vast distance for no reason other than they make for a convenient propaganda ploy for the cameras. If this keeps up, I think I'm going to have to dub her, Li'l Rage Girl. Continue reading »

A Continued Astroturfing

The Palestinian terror group Hamas continues yet again to trot out "oppressed" citizens before the cameras, in a desperate attempt to force Israel to open the borders into their territory. Nevermind the fact that (a) medical supplies into the Gaza Strip are not embargoed by the border closing, and (b) the only thing that Hamas has ever shown any interest in getting across the borders is weaponry.

Don't expect our spineless press to give you answers like this, though. It's much easier to stick to the idiotic David vs. Goliath script. Continue reading »

Partners In Peace

How serious is Hamas about "making peace" with Israel? This serious:

Charming.

Hmm: Then again, perhaps Islamic Jihad is taking their orders from somewhere else. After all, it's not like their ties to Iran are all that secret or anything.

Update: Well lookee, lookee: To anyone who thinks you can somehow differentiate between Ismael Haniyeh (the "political" wing of Hamas), and the "militant" Islamic Jihad wing—I submit this:

Update again: Such a culture of peace. This kid can't be much older than 10:

Celebrating the Victory of Thugs

Once again, our illustrious press shows up to document, and ultimately to celebrate, a press conference arranged by Hamas. Yeah, we should all be used to it by now, right? But anyway, this one is a real doozie: Check out their victorious spoils of victory, yo:

I'm sure the IDF will truly be unable to function without that cot. Tremble in fear, o ye Zionists! Continue reading »

Happy Al-Quds West-Hating Fun Day

Is this the next Jihadi Idol?
It's that time of year again, and the celebrations have begun! If you're not familiar with it, "Al Quds Day" is a day set aside by the Ayatollah Khameni and the Islamic Revolutionary government in Iran as a day for Muslims to march against "Western" "oppression". Never they mind the oppression brought upon them by their leaders, of course. The stability of their dictatorships depends on them directing their peons' anger externally, does it not?

Notice that Al Quds Day falls on the last Friday of Ramadan, a day in which all Muslims are encouraged to go to their mosques for prayer. It is in these mosques that the "Islamic public" is so easily whipped into a rage by their radical imams. So, in effect, this is the largest canned protest of the year.

Be sure to check back here all day, I'll be doing my best to keep up with the fun and games!

And here are last year's celebrations, so you know what to expect.

Update: This year's theme, parroted by every single group of brainwashed demonstrators, is "DOWN WITH ISRAEL."

If only International A.N.S.W.E.R. had as loyal a following as Tehran does, huh?

;-)

Anatomy of a Palestinian Funeral

REUTERS/Ibraheem Abu Mustafa (GAZA)

Here's yet another instance of what I like to call "selective" truth:—We're presented initially, via our intrepid (by which I mean "totally uninquisitive") photographers, with news that a man was found dead, shot somewhere in the Gaza Strip. This, as far as anyone can tell, is true. Cue: crocodile tears.

We're also told, via captional inference, that the Israelis are being blamed for this shooting. Hello, conjecture.

Finally, we're told that, according to Israeli records, no soldiers were in the area at the time. Enter, truth.

This type of thing happens far more often than you'd ever think, yet time and time again, the press falls for the immediate blame-da-JEWSism spewed at them by the hostile locals and repeats the claims unquestioned. And time and time again, when the facts come in, the inital storyline is almost always shown to be false.

Are the collective press acting as ignorant dupes, merely parroting what they're told by "local" sources? If so, why do we even bother having a press, since they can't be trusted to report information that is, well, factual.

If they're not ignorant dupes, then the only other option I can think of is far worse:—Are they actively involved in trying to find stories that they can use to smear Israel?

Check out the extended article to see the evolution of the captions surrounding this story. By my count, the press continues to fall farther and farther into the latter category each passing day. Continue reading »
