I Pledged Allegiance to the Flag

This is a fantastic way to celebrate Veterans Day! Student leaders at a California (where else?) college have BANNED the Pledge of Allegiance at their meetings. Apparently, celebrating your nation's history and being patriotic is too troublesome or offensive! What's next? First they replaced the good red rubber balls for dodgeball with not-even-close-to Nerf ones, then they ban the game of Tag, and now the Pledge? I'll bet they'll start banning the American Flag itself because it could be portrayed as an offensive war-time banner!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Student leaders at a California college have touched off a furor by banning the Pledge of Allegiance at their meetings, saying they see no reason to publicly swear loyalty to God and the U.S. government.
