What happened to the pictures? Exhibit A, Exhibit B
Will they ever come back? Yes and no

"Imperealist"

I have to admit—it's a pretty darn accurate way to describe people like me. From the picture, the sign reads:

Five Years AMERICAN Imperealist Possession on
IRAQ is a Humiliation of Huminity & Mankind

You'd better keep your huminity safe from we dastardly imperealists!

Update: The Tanveer brothers are at it again. One of the two wire services involved here is getting ripped off. I'll let y'all figure out which one I think it is—though, for the record, Khalid does seem to be the better photographer of the two. Assuming there really are two of 'em.

Did You Know?

You might be under the impression after listening to dhimmified Western leaders for the past 7 years or so, that Islam means "Peace."

Or, if you read many conservative blogs, that it really means "Submission."

Actually, judging by the sign bandied about by this particular Pakistani Portable Rage Mob, both of these sentiments are wrong.

You see, Islam stands for Always.

Who would've guessed it? ;-)

In Related News, it would seem that some loving, compassionate, ever tolerant parent in Iran has been busy teaching "family values" to his son.

What better way to show your kids how to live well, than to teach them how to kill the kuf'r?

Happy International "It" Day

You know, when one tries to make a point about woman's rights on International Women's Day (or is that "womyn's" and "Womyn's"?), one probably ought to refrain from referring to women as "it"...

'Course, not being the "progressive" type, I might just be missing out on some of the latest lingo. ;-)

Bycott Bycott Bycott

Why bother checking for spelling and grammar, when all one needs is rage?

Pakistan is blazing with protests today over the Danish cartoons. Still. Which makes this 1 month of non-stop raging, essentially over some random ink on paper.

Incidentally, we Christians have seen far worse abuse than this piddliness, but you don't see us burning everything we can get our hands on to protest.

Why do you suppose that is? Continue reading »

"Sir" Salman Rushdie: A Thoughtful Reaction

Here is a round-up of the calm, collected, and very in-depth, well-considered Pakistani Islamist response to the knighting of Salman Rushdie (h/t lgf):

Pakistan's religious students burn effigies of Queen Elizabeth II and author Salman Rushdie condemning the knighthood award to Rushdie in Multan, Pakistan, Sunday, June 17, 2007. Pakistani lawmakers passed a government-backed resolution Monday demanding Britain withdraw the knighthood awarded to author Salman Rushdie, condemning the honor as an insult to the religious sentiments of Muslims. Of course, some will say that this will inflame the anger of the Middle East... but then again, when is their anger not ablaze?

________ stirs up Muslim anger

"Jihad is the hump of Islam."
Yeah, it's not really news, but the Pope's speech seems to have sparked Muslim protests world-wide.

More pleasantry from the Religion of the Perpetually Offended. Keep your eye on this article—I'll be posting the photos from these protests as soon as they come across the wire. It always seems that Muslims spend the entire year preparing to protest, much like lefties, so I'm confident that we'll have some spectacular material here soon!

The basic premise of modern Islam? "Think like us, or we'll kill you."

Find a picture in any paper that depicts a Christian like this.
There ya go. It truly is "the religion of peace," isn't it...?

UPDATE 16:11 EST: It seems that Hamas has joined the party. The sycophantic press, of course, is doing their best to present the protesters as helpless, unarmed civilians. We know better, though. Also, Confederate Yankee has noticed the "Hump" sign, and found it as amusing as we did. Continue reading »

"Spontaneous" demonstrations

It seems that a series of supposedly spontaneous demonstrations have broken out around the world. Reports are coming in from places as far and wide as London and Indonesia. Here are some of the pictures sent across the wire—if there are any language experts out there, I'd definitely be interested in seeing the translations of some of the banners shown here. My hunch is that, far from being spontaneous, we'd instead discover that these protests are carefully coördinated. If that's the case, the question then becomes, "By who?"

As an aside, when viewing these pictures, keep in mind:—other than in London, very few of the people pictured are likely to speak English. This means that their signs were written for them by someone who does, and that the messages on those signs are intended strictly for a Western audience. The native-language posters may differ significantly in their message, but we generally don't have any way of knowing that, as the wires only send translations along on occasion.

In any case, I'm sure that Tehran has its hand in these protests. The messages are too similar for this to be "spontaneous" protest.
