Snapped Shot

Always Watching the All-Seeing Eye

Nothing to worry about here

I'm sure Israel's comforted by the UnTIEd Nations Peacekeeping (And Terrorist-Rearming) Force being in Lebanon. This photograph should be on the front page of EVERY SINGLE NEWSPAPER in Israel, as a reminder of how friendly the United Nations really is with piddling terrorists.

Confederate Yankee has more examples of the crack forces sent to protect Hezbullah from Israel.

A Spanish U.N. peacekeeper shakes the hand of a Lebanese Hezbollah supporter wearing a yellow T-shirt and carrying a Hezbollah flag as he marches in the southern village of Kfar Kila, Lebanon, Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, on his way to attend the massive victory rally that will take place in Beirut Friday afternoon. Hundreds of Hezbollah supporters (MEMO TO ISRAEL: Target-rich Environment!) from across southern Lebanon began marching on foot toward Beirut for a major rally planned Friday to showcase the group's insistence it won't disarm. Update 22:24 EST: LGF has finally noticed this photograph, but is still behind the game. You still read it here first, folks! (Just joshing ya a bit, Charles! Believe me, I read your site more than I read mine, just like everyone else...) :-)

An unlikely shot?

I'm having a hard time with this particular photograph. For starters, the silhouetted soldiers seem to be too small to be positioned where they are, compared to the background. Also, we're told by our intrepid photographer that we're looking at "a mock graveyard," which might be true, but what we're not told is that this is a picture of Martyr's Square, a center of Hezbullah's propaganda operations oddly reminiscent of Cindy Sheehan's Camp Casey.

Anyone able to explain the lighting and positioning of the riot police in this photograph? I'm not suggesting it's faked in any way—I just find the lighting to be curious.

Caption: Lebanese riot police are silhouetted against the grave markers at a mock cemetery in downtown Beirut, Lebanon, Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, during a demonstration against the visit of British Prime Minister Tony Blair to Lebanon. Thousands of protesters shouted angry chants and accused British Prime Minister Tony Blair of complicity in last month's Israeli bombardment of Lebanon as he arrived Monday in a country still reeling from 34 days of fighting. The incredible relocatable protest

Is that Flatima?
Is it Lebanon? Or San Francisco? Perhaps it's Washington, DC.

I really can't tell. Click on the "Read More" link below to find the (hopefully) obvious answer. And then ask yourself how original the Left really is.

(The wires, thankfully, are identifying this as a protest organized by Hezbullah. At least we're not expected to believe it's spontaneous, as the press here in the United States tries to portray leftist protests here as...)

Oh, and let's be clear here: These people are not "Anti-War" protesters, by any stretch of the imagination. They're perfectly happy with war, especially on Israel—but are also very happy to wage war against the rest of what they view as an "imperialistic" Western world.

If one side wants war, and the other side is too cowardly to fight back, which side do you suppose will win?

One thing's for certain:—The press is not on the same side as the West. Continue reading »
