What happened to the pictures? Exhibit A, Exhibit B
Will they ever come back? Yes and no

Self Defense = Terrorism

According to supporters of Hamas, self-defense is terrorism. Stopping missile barrages aimed at innocent civilians is terrorism. Blocking Palestinian snipers from shooting at Israeli owned vehicles is terrorism. Stopping the flow of suicide bombers by establishing checkpoints is terrorism.

From the picture caption:

Women Hamas supporters carry placards with Arabic words that reads 'The siege is terrorist,' during a protest against the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip, in the southern port city of Sidon, Lebanon, Sunday April 20, 2008.

Everyone and anyone who refuses to convert, submit, or die is a terrorist.

Update [Brian]: Fixed the Yahoo! link for ya.

Good Luck Swastika?

One runs across some of the strangest things when browsing through the day's news photographs. Consider this photograph, for instance, which was taken during a pro-Tibetan protest in New Delhi from today. Pay particular attention to the left-hand side of the frame.

Could this be a rare usage of the good luck swastika? Or is there something else going on here?

As usual, you're welcome to sound off in the comments with your theories. I'm as perplexed as you are!

An Asult to Reason

I can say with the utmost confidence that my English spidey-senses are insulted by this sign.

Wait... or maybe they're assaulted by it?

Either way, I think you get the point. Malaysia has now joined the anti-Fitna ragefest. I'll be tracking the wires to see if the fires continue to spread on this happy Friday, the traditional day of rage.

Update: I'm extremely asult, even.

Incidentally, Geert Wilders has apparently made some new friends in India as well. Anyone remember to bring the Grey Poupon?

Update again: Wildersitis has spread to Turkey.

Things That Offend Muslims

As a public service announcement, I thought I'd educate our readers on a few things they should avoid so as not to offend our Muslim friends.

The Amboy Times blog brings us a work in progress (about people in regress):

Things That Offend Muslims

Proper Rage Targeting

Here's a helpful primer for those of you who are looking to start a periodic roving Rage riot—When selecting a target for your scorn and effigy burnination, make sure you pick someone who is against you. Picking someone who's openly apologetic to your cause isn't likely to earn you any brownie points in Rageland. From the caption:

Brian is Also Teh Christian Terroris !!!

Heh, it would seem that the rageocity has spread to Indonesia, the self-proclaimed "most-populous Muslim state."

Fresh from the wires is this little declaration of joy. I couldn't possibly hope to put his deep and well-considered position to words, so if you would allow me, I'll just quote this paragon of thought directly below:

GEERT WILDERS IS THE CHRISTIAN TERRORIS !!!

Words of wisdom, folks. Words of wisdom. Peaceful wisdom, at that.

As an aside, these guys look like the same people that came out for the anti-Rushdie day of rage, and for the anti-Israel day of rage, and for the anti-Annapolis day of rage—but without being able to show you the pictures, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Never underestimate the media's power of laziness when it comes to showing the same set of protesters time and time again.

Hmm, there is one other thing worth mentioning here. Consider the following caption, which is typical of those sent across from this event:

A member of a hardline Islamic group attends an anti-Dutch protest in front of the Dutch embassy Monday March 31, 2008 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Scores of police stood guard as about 40 demonstrators from a hardline Muslim group called for the death of a Dutch legislator for producing a film critical of their faith at a protest Monday in the Indonesian capital.(AP Photo/Ed Wray)

It took millions of dollars in Western technological development to bring about the Associated Press and all of the other related wire services.

And now, after all of this advanced technological development, said services have been reduced to transmitting photographs of a group that is a small fraction the size of a small church congregation here in the States.

I guess this is that "progress" my left-leaning friends are always harping about.

Finally, a Genuine Geert!

The anti-Fitna rage in Pakistan is just starting to get ramped up. I noted yesterday that there's a bit of an oversupply of Danish flags there, but it looks like things in the Marketplace of (Raging) Ideas are starting to get turned around. Never let it be said that Capitalism doesn't work.

The mobile ragefests are certain to be picking up steam over the next week, as the crowds become aware of what Denmark Holland has done.

Oh, and judging by this wire photograph, it would seem that awareness of the persona that is Geert Wilders is also on the rise.

Along with awareness of his trademark shock of blonde hair.

Either that, or he's looking awfully saintly these days.
