AP Sensationalizing Hurricane Ike?

This is an interesting picture, but I can't help wondering how much it is staged to sensationalize the image. Is the photographer clinging to a post as well?

A hurricane is dramatic enough, so why does the AP feel the need to embellish?

*that is so stupid. anyone can tell that the wind is barely even blowing in that shot. I don't see any waves and the trees don't even look like the wind is blowing.

*The waves would be blowing leftward if he were being blown leftward. As you can see, they're not.

Still, it shows that he's pretty strong. I'm quite sure I couldn't do that.

*NOticed that the Drudge Report used that same image on their front page to tell of massive damage from Ike.

guess even some of the best are dooped.
