Mystery: Wave of Burglaries in D.C. Metro Area

See if you can figure out what the cause of this crime spree is, without clicking on this link first.

I'll quote and fisk below the break, for those of you playing along at home.
WASHINGTON (Map, News) - A wave of burglaries is spreading across the Washington area, and police say illegal immigrants, hit by police crackdowns and the drop in new construction, are likely playing a key role.

So what's the solution here? To stop cracking down on illegal immigration, which totally destroys the quality of life for legal contractors and builders in our area?

Or how about we force builders to continue slapping out McMansions at 25-per-acre, and then when they don't sell, have the County condemn them and fill them to the brim with the now-displaced illegal aliens?

That's about the only solution I've ever heard from Gerry Connolly and his ilk.

“The immigrant community is at a tipping point,” said Montgomery County police community liaison Officer Luis Hurtado. “The poor economy is pushing more immigrants to turn to crime.”

And herein lies the crux of the problem:—The immigrant community is at no such thing. Legal immigrants are still gainfully employed, living safely in their homes, and driving to work on a regular basis. Lawbreakers, on the other hand, might be a bit uncomfortable.

But hey, we never let discomfort stop us from enforcing the law when we go after bank robbers, do we?

In the first five months of this year, burglaries climbed 10 to 20 percent in many jurisdictions.

The District of Columbia had the greatest increase, jumping 20 percent from 1,370 in the first five months of 2007 to 1,638 for the same period this year.

Montgomery County police said they’ve averaged 288 burglaries a month for the first five months of this year, up 23 per month, or nearly 10 percent, from last year.

Alexandria stood out as the only jurisdiction showing a significant decline — 33 percent — but police couldn’t explain the drop.

Gerry Connolly's Fairfax County, in which Snapped Shot resides, was not listed here—But we are a destination county for illegal immigrants moving away from Manassas and other parts of Prince William County, so it's only logical to think that the same trend can be spotted in Sterling, Herndon, Reston, Annandale, Centreville, and Springfield—all areas which are completely innundated with illegal immigrants.

And many more burglaries in which illegal immigrants themselves are the victims have likely gone unreported; illegals often shy away from police, whom they fear may arrest them for violating immigration laws, community activists said.

Boo fricking hoo. The police have never "discriminated" against anyone reporting a crime (see here, here and here, for instance). The only "shying away" happening here is due to malicious malcontents in these same "community activist" groups, who continually pump out their confounded hate-crime rhetoric day and night, frightening the crAP out of the "communities" they claim to represent.

Keep in mind:—Only idiot liberals can get away with doing this without consequence.

Last week, about 100 residents from the massive Latino community in Takoma/Langley Park, which straddles the Prince George’s-Montgomery County line, met with police officials from both counties. They demanded action for what they described as a neighborhood under siege.

And the Police are, no doubt, trying to get their neighborhood out from its siege. That they feel "uncomfortable" around the police due to their harboring of lawbreaking illegal immigrants can not be helped.

Seriously, if the rest of the country knew how totally lost the D.C. Metro area was, we would be planning to move our Capitol to anywhere else, and fast.
