U.S. Senator John McCain today issued the following statement on Cinco de Mayo as his campaign announced several new Spanish efforts:

"Cinco de Mayo commemorates an important moment in the history of Mexico's path to freedom. On this day in 1862, a small group of Mexican troops overcame overwhelming force to win the Battle of Puebla. Today, we join together to remember the sacrifice that these Mexican patriots endured, as well as the struggles of all those around the world striving for freedom. We recognize as well the important friendship that exists between our country and Mexico, and celebrate the many contributions Mexican-Americans have made to our society, culture, security and economy."

The Cinco de Mayo statement can now also be found on the Spanish section of the official campaign website at http://espanol.johnmccain.com, which the campaign launched today. This part of the website will feature regular updates in Spanish throughout the election.

Finally, as part of his commitment to talking with all Americans during this presidential campaign, the McCain presidential campaign announced that John McCain will attend the La Raza Annual Convention in San Diego...

La Raza Earmarked $10 Million In Latest Federal Housing Bill

It never fails, there is always some politician trying to sneak money to La Raza and other open border lobby groups in bills. The latest is the Federal Housing Bill which earmarks $10 million per year for "the race". And people wonder why illegal immigration is a problem in this country? It is no surprise, because politicians want it that way.


There is also a YouTube video of Sen. Lindsay Graham (party of McCain) calling illegals, "workers" and that the American idealism belongs to the planet and not to one group of people.

*Yep, and that's exactly why this blog will be endorsing Any Democrat for President in 2008. If the Republican National Committee thinks so little of we Americans that they'll encourage their candidates to go and speak in front of the National Council of THE RACE, then SCREW THEM.

*The so called Battle of Puebla was a victory over a very poorly lead French Army group! That seems to be the best that expatriate Mexicans, living in the United States, can come up with for an excuse for a national holiday.

*Thank you WildIris. As an average white American, I have no clue about the wars or battles that people south of the USA border have fought. So to me, it means nothing. I think the fact that we have not really heard about it, speaks volumes.

I am curious, does anyone here know how the American Civil War is presented to other countries, if at all?
