Hamas TV Buys ABC

That's ABC as in the Aussie Broadcasting Corporation. An affiliated children's website, Planet Slayer, compares Australians with pigs and offers a calculator to tell kids when they should martyr themselves die.

What are you thankful for during Memorial Day

I just happened to be watching the Military Channel this Saturday of the Memorial Day Weekend. As some people head out to the lake like lemmings in order to leave the sardine life and camp together in the sardine life, I took the time to think of what I was thankful for during this Memorial Day weekend.

I would like this post to highlight what military hardware that you are thankful for that has provided unabashed and renowned life-saving or war-winning achievements.

I will start this off with something that I am thankful for. I am thankful for the C-130 Hercules airship.

Blogswarm: An Open Letter to a Doofus

From Yaacov Ben Moshe to Charles Enderlin:

Thank You Charles Enderlin and France2-

We have to admit we were angry with you for libeling Israel that we wanted to get you to take it back. It wasn’t just anger. We wanted to make it impossible for you to ever release such a tidal wave of violence and blood on us again. After the disastrous aftermath of your al Durah report, so many people suffered and died, we have come to think of you more as a war criminal than just an unethical journalist. Really, we do not feel that you deserve to be thought of as an honorable journalist. Fortunately for us your character flaws have relieved us of the responsibility to attack you. If you had ignored our criticism, let the whole thing drop and not sued anyone you would still be on top of the world today and Israel and the Jewish people would still be blackened by your libel.

Your restless guilt and vanity would not let you do the smart thing, though, and you sued Philipe Karsenty. Only those blinded by self-importance and its underlying insecurity, on the one hand, and driven by a need to deny fault on the other, would have felt the need.

So you showed your weakness and hubris just by filing the suit. Even more important though, from your law suit flowed the healing drama in the French courtroom in March. First, you demeaned yourself by bringing obviously altered tape into evidence into the courtroom. Then you further revealed your self delusion by pretending not to notice the derisive laughter of the gallery or that even the judge who was questioning you was treating you and your evasive explanations with amused disdain.

Now that the judgment is published, Charles, we are very pleased to see that you are going to do your best to help us to help you to complete your self-destruction by taking it to a higher court. We never had the stomach for the dirty fight you are waging we do not like to destroy other people- no matter how richly deserved. We, therefore are especially grateful to you that you have not had the moral fiber to resist you darker instincts and have thereby undertaken to do the job yourself.

We are not character assassins- but we are enjoying immensely watching your character commit a spectacularly public suicide.

Sincerely,
Yaacov Ben Moshe,
Second Draft

The World's Newest ... Gardeners?

How nice: Hezbullah, after tearing up Beirut for a year in an attempt to overthrow the Lebanese government—a mission which they only this week succeeded with—is puffing up the propaganda efforts once more. This time? They are taking their turns at gardening.

Just try and tell me that photo isn't 100% staged. Either way, it's not "news."

Shot of the photographers willingly participating in this fraud here, lower left-hand corner.

Update: More on Hezbullah's extensive "gardening" expertise, courtesy an e-mail from Soccer Dad:

The Bekaa Valley was an incredibly fertile and varied agricultural land. The Bekaa Valley in central Lebanon, with the warm Mediterranean sun beating down on it, is one of the most ideal places in the world to cultivate cannabis and poppies. Before the civil war in Lebanon began in the late 1970's drug production was minimal. Lebanon was a prosperous country. Beirut was known as the `Paris of the East' and tourists, not drug crops were soaking up the Sun.

Then war destroyed Lebanon and its economy. Numerous factions, each with their own militias, split up and occupied different parts of Lebanon. Each needed a source of income for weapons and ammunition to supply their armies. Many illegal activities were tried such as counterfeiting and kidnapping, but eventually the narcotics trade came to be seen as the most effective way to raise money. As the war continued and weapons became increasingly expensive and more difficult to get, drug production increased as well. Battles would often be fought over fertile fields and drug crops. Narcotics growing and trafficking became a way of life for an entire generation in Lebanon. By the early 1990s cannabis or opium crops covered almost 75 percent of the 4,280 square kilometer Bekaa Valley.

In addition to Lebanese cannabis, Hezbollah may traffick heroin out of Iran and distributing it through their Lebanon-based cannabis trafficking network. Money from narcotics goes to support Hezbollah's militia within Lebanon, and presumably also to support their terrorist attacks around the world.

Heck, it gives me a good excuse to link to this bit of hilarity, so I'm happy.

So much anger.

And so little time.

Some are More Equal

When it comes to drunk driving in California, the law appears to put certain people at a distinct advantage (h/t Man50D):

Some illegal aliens may have found a way to ensure they will never lose their driver's licenses for drunk driving in California – even if they can't read.

...

"There are some clients who do not provide any Social Security numbers whatsoever," he said. "When a client calls over the phone to have a schedule change, I have to ask him for his birth date and Social Security number. Sometimes there's no Social Security number whatsoever. That's a red flag to me."
...

Rodier said the STEPS program is not only for first-time offenders. Often times, people who have had two or three drunk-driving offenses register for the classes.

"There are some people who have gotten a DUI, taken a course, gotten their license and gotten a DUI and repeated the whole process over again," he said.

Drunk-driving on the roads that Americans won't drunk-drive on, eh? I wonder where MADD stands on this?

In Mahmoud's World

I'm not all that great at Photoshop (see if you can count how many images I blended poorly here, and please do ignore the crappy attempt to "fix" the sky)—but hopefully, the concept is funny.

Postville Raid Update 2

Ok, here are some more updates on that ICE raid on the AgriProcessing plant raid that yielded nearly 400 illegal democrat voters.. umm.. I mean illegal immigrants.

From a member of Congress comes this message of respect and admiration...

U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley on Tuesday asked federal officials for a tally of the costs of last week's immigration raid in Postville and similar enforcement actions in 2006 at Swift & Co. meatpacking plants in Marshalltown and five other Midwest cities.

"It is important that my constituents in Iowa and all U.S. taxpayers know how their tax dollars are being spent," the Waterloo Democrat said in a letter to Immigration and Customs Enforcement Assistant Secretary Julie Myers.

Braley said it's important for federal immigration officials to be as transparent as possible when enforcement actions occur.

The congressman asked for a breakdown of ICE's expenses, including planning, execution, processing, detention and deportation costs. He also asked for the budgets of other cooperating agencies that assisted with the raids.

Now, I wonder why in the world he would want to know that kind of information?? And, isn't it interesting that Braley's political affiliation is not mentioned. Continue reading »
