Vatican: Muslims Outnumber Catholics

Grim news.

What is most difficult to accept is that 1 in 5 people on earth choose to worship a man who was a sadistic murderer, a thief, a warmonger, a slave owner, a rapist, and a child molester.

What has humanity become?

Islam has overtaken Roman Catholicism as the biggest single religious denomination in the world, the Vatican said on Sunday.

Monsignor Vittorio Formenti, who compiled the Vatican's newly-released 2008 yearbook of statistics, said Muslims made up 19.2 percent of the world's population and Catholics 17.4 percent.

"For the first time in history we are no longer at the top: the Muslims have overtaken us," Formenti told Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano in an interview, saying the data referred to 2006.

*I don't think it's that big of a deal for two reasons... *first*, exactly how and from whom the data for muslim countries was gathered might make it suspect. We know that quite a few muslim organizations overstate their numbers. (Though it's possible the Vatican does the same, it seems unlikely given the headline).

*Second*, it's comparing all denominations/sects of muslims to one denomination of Christians. Almost certainly Catholic Christians still represent the largest population of people on the world who believe in a single set of dogma, follow a distinct set of doctrine, and look to a single living human for spiritual guidance.

When you also consider that a solid majority of muslims live in Africa, with little political, economic, or military clout, the numbers are less worrisome as well.

The truly worrisome disparity is how many Muslims are willing to fight against other beliefs versus how many Christians/Westerners are willing to defend their own beliefs.

*Mr. Rooster who told u that all the Muslims are gay? Islam is one of the most pious, modest, close-t-nature, peaceful religion on the earth. Islam strictly forbids illegal sexual activities even with your wife. A Muslim can't even touch a woman other than his wife than how could a Muslim become a "gay"? We have the book of Allah in its 100% true from, which is manifesto of our lives. sodomy or gayism it strictly forbidden in Islam and the person who do this unnatural act is cursed by Allah and His Messenger. Don’t you see the other people who have unnatural sex, even with animals. Islam restrains its believers to do so. I suggest you to read the book The Bible, Quran and Science (written by a Christian) and than you will reveal that Quranic verses are 100% applicable according to the principles of science but I am afraid to say that the most of the verses of (changed) Bible are against scientific principles. You should study about Islam and than say anything about it.
