Posting Pictures for Fun and Profit, Redux

Again, without the "profit" part. I won't have any talk of that silliness around here!

Lee from A Secondhand Conjecture suggested that I try PicApp, a service that promises to allow we measly bloggers to post copyrighted pictures on our blog at no cost.

Here's a handy example from their gallery, from a story I missed from last week:

Of course, this does come at some cost:—For starters, instead of being able to view the photographs using your high-speed web browser, PicApp forces us to use an Adobe Flash control to run an object that is annoyingly animated.

The other cost? Yeah, you guessed it by now—PicApp reserves the right to advertise on any blog that uses their service.

But hey, I figure it's worth a try, assuming I can find content in their archive in a timely manner. It's not encouraging to see that the latest content available today is from last week, but hey, it's better than nothing.

Be sure to let me know how/if it works for you, and we'll see where things go from here! And, if you're a blogger who is looking to illustrate your articles without paying a hefty fee to the wire services, registration is "free" as in free.

Thanks for the tip, Lee! You're definitely on your way to becoming Internet Superhero #2 in my book!
UPDATE: Could it be? Could we be back in business?

We just might be—if the following works for a majority of you dastardly Zionist conspirators:

"Yes, I was very glad to see Snapped Shot go away."

Here is what a handful of random people think about this article. But first, the fine print:
The opinions expressed here, even where approved for display, do not necessarily reflect the opinions of this website, the management, or any other entity or organization, with the exception of the Vast Zionist Conspiracy. Those opinions we represent in style, yo. Please keep the language in these comments clean, as this is intended to be a family-friendly, work-friendly website. Comments not compliant with this policy will be edited for content where necessary. Abusive or otherwise illegal comments will be reported to the proper authorities, up to and including the aforementioned Vast Zionist Conspiracy. The Management cannot and will not be held responsible for commenters making a spectacle of themselves, even if The Management are the said commenters in question. In other words, don't take yourself so seriously, folks. We're all here to discuss the news, and more importantly, to have fun. Now go get yourself into some OCD treatment program—you obviously need it if you actually read all of this mess.

*i dunno.
like you said. hard to see images that can't be enlarged over what is default. then if you happen to mouse over it, it shrinks.

but then, free is free. and, most of your content is not related to the news of the day. And, for those few times, direct links are always applicable.

*while the animations are lame, being able to see nice clear pics is worth it.

they do a pretty good service

*Eh, caveats or not, it might be a good way to keep the lawyers at bay and still goof off with some of the wire photos. It all depends on where they go with their technology as to how useful it will be—Those animations have GOT to go, along with the little guy who pops up outside of the frame.

But hey, at least we get to mess with Ahmaddyjab again. ;-)

Regards,
Brian
