RAGE BOY SIGHTING!!!!!! Anti-Denmark Day of RAGE; not so worldwide
ISLAMIC RAGE BOY IS HERE!!!!!
I'll be scanning the wires all day—I'm fully expecting a roasted effigy or two, a dozen and a half burnt-to-a-crisp Danish flags, and more misspelled protest signs than one can shake a stick at before today's done. Keep checking back here for updates as the day progresses.
AS A REMINDER—For my more "progressive" readers (I know there's at least two of you out there!), these mindless masses are raging in the streets and burning stuff over this. Given that, what do you suppose their reactions would be to something more like this?
Update: Looks like the "worldwide" part of this protest was pretty much a dud. We heard from Pakistan, Kashmir, and Gaza—three of the most extreme outposts of militant Islam out there—but were met with silence in places like Indonesia, Egypt, and Yemen.
Perhaps the fires of rage aren't at their peak on this little event, and we need another week for the worldwide ummah to hear about the sins of the Danish? Or maybe, they're starting to figure out that the rest of the world isn't really all that enthralled with their continual rage?
Heh, as if! I'm sure we'll be seeing more fires a-burning next week. Hopefully with a reprise of the World-Famous Professional Protester, to boot!
To make up for the lack of "worldwide-edness" of this particular protest, here's a flashback to rage-ier times for you. Back before we even knew Rage Boy for the awesomeness that he is.

From the captions, I see two general observations:—First, these fires were set by "demonstrators." Not rioters, not thugs. Yes, "demonstrators," as if any of these thugs have actual grievances that are worth considering.
It is interesting to note that none of our photographers on-site see fit to take pictures of said "demonstrators."
Secondly, police came out and made it very clear that they have no idea what sparked the rioting. None whatsoever.
Me personally? I think the photo of all of the cops calmly driving by a fire is just adorable—and it sums up the Danish government's response to open insurrection quite succinctly.
