Hanging by a thread

Just like the UN.
Much like the UN's credibility, this cluster bomb seems to be hanging by a thread.

But, for starters, is it really likely that it landed there by itself? Or is it more likely that someone identified it as a dud and hung it from a tree?

And secondly, how's this for moral equivalence: Is there ANY distinction between Israel "raining down cluster bombs when a cease-fire was in sight," and Hezbullah "firing rockets at Haifa AFTER THE CEASE-FIRE WENT INTO EFFECT?"

Why is one REGULARLY condemned in bylines by the useful idiots dhimmis in Europe, and one REGULARLY ignored?

Jan Egeland, who according to the caption accompanying this picture, is shocked and appalled at Israel's "completely immoral" behavior. Jan presumably has no problem whatsoever with terrorists hiding behind civilians, as he has yet to utter a single word condemning that behavior. (Correction: As pointed out by reader "truth squad," Jan Egeland has in fact condemned that behavior:

But a day after criticizing Israel for "disproportionate" strikes against civilians, U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland accused Hezbollah of "cowardly blending" among Lebanese civilians.

I can see where this guy, after some determination was made that this bomb was a dud, took it out to his orchard and hung it in a tree for a nice PR move.

Yes, it is true that Mr. England criticized Hezballah, but his main directives (and most of them) were directed at Isreal when he made his grand tour to Lebanon. Note the difference in word choice.

To Hezbos: "Jan Egeland accused Hezbollah of "cowardly blending" among Lebanese civilians."... cowardly. This to a group of terrorist thugs who wish death to their children.

To Isreal: "Jan Egeland is shocked and appalled at Israel's "completely immoral" behavior."..... shocked, appalled, immoral. This directed at a duly elected government that actively (and uncalled for) made provisions to reduce civilian deaths.

This is like Murtha saying al-quaeda is evil, but then turn around and direct 95% of his vilest and most treasonist comments at our own military.

United Nations relief coordinator Jan Egeland opened the meeting warning that the Gaza Strip was a “ticking time bomb” after a devastating two-month Israeli offensive.

“If there is no hope ... you can probably expect that the extremist groups have a lot of possibilities to recruit among the hundreds of thousands of youths,” Egeland warned.

The UN now simply makes up imaginary laws that Israel has violated. What the hell is “international humanitarian law?” UN relief chief accuses Israel of violating humanitarian law.

UN humanitarian coordinator Jan Egeland has condemned Israel for “a violation of humanitarian law” as he toured ruins in Beirut left by devastating Israeli air raids on residential areas.

“This is destruction of block after block of mainly residential areas. I would say it seems to be an excessive use of force in an area with so many citizens,” he told reporters Sunday.

Asked if this Israeli raid that destroyed the buildings was a war crime he replied: “It makes it a violation of humanitarian law.”
