"We are Peaceful Towards All Nations"

... at least, so says Mahmoud "Shorty" Ahmadinejad, and of course, his (brainless) fans in the West believe every word of it. But what does the reality on the ground in Iran say?

A veiled Iranian woman walks past graffiti art characterizing the U.S. Statue of Liberty, painted on the wall of the former U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran, Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007. Iran and the U.S. have not had diplomatic ties since militants took over the U.S. Embassy following the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is addressing the U.N. General Assembly Tuesday after defending Holocaust revisionists and raising questions about who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks in a tense showdown at Columbia University. (AP Photo/Vahid Salemi)

Yep, that would be the "former" U.S. Embassy that the Islamic Revolution held hostage way back in Jimmy Carter's failed presidency.

Do you notice the subtle propaganda in that last picture, by the way? If not, take a closer look at where the gun is pointing.

I'm posting some additional pictures from the archives beyond the breakthat should give you an accurate description of how "peaceful" Iran is towards the West.
Check out the cartoons in the background and see what Iran accuses Israel and the USA of doing to Lebanon. (This while the Iranian government supplies Hezbullah with arms.)

You read that right: The text that Bib Boy is so happily wearing reads "Down with USA." Peaceful, huh?

The caption on this is preposterous enough on its own:

An Iranian woman fills in the papers of registration indicating her readiness for martyrdom, or to carry out suicide attacks against Israel during an anti-Israeli rally marking 'Al-Quds Day' (Jerusalem Day), to support the Palestinian cause, in Tehran, Iran, Friday, Oct. 20, 2006. After Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini toppled the pro-Western Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1979, he declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as an international day of struggle against Israel and for the liberation of Jerusalem. What, is she going to "suicide ATTACK" them with flowers? What part of "attack" does Mahmoud think is peaceful?

Again, the original suffices:

Demonstrators burn an Israeli flag during a protest against Pope Benedict's remarks on Islam after Friday prayers in Tehran September 22, 2006. Some 300 people chanted 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel' as they burned U.S., British and Israeli flags, witnesses said. REUTERS/Caren Firouz (IRAN)

'Cuz, you know, America, Israel, and England totally control the Pope.

As you can see, Iran's almost-30-year reign of brutal hatred towards the West hasn't calmed down a whit, which should be more than enough to convince just about anyone of their true non-peaceful intentions. Everyone not deeply immersed in self-hatred, that is.

*Brian, its a cultural thing. Maybe when they say "Down with USA" they are actually trumpeting their own horns. Kind of like when we celebrate 4th of July and we say "Happy Independence Day". That could be taken by another culture like Iran to mean, "we want to annhiliate you".

You just can't show pictures like the gun to the woman's head and expect a clear thinking answer. Come on. Isn't it obvious what that picture represents? It, uh, um... well obviously, .. it... represents.. umm.. how they associate insanity with the US. REcall how we simulate insanity and stupidity by pointing our fingers into a gun shape and pulling the trigger finger at the side of our heads? See, its not so strange after all.
